I won’t go into the whole issue on whether or not young kids should be playing with guns or not, but I know that as one, I was making heavy use of them in my Lego. Not all the time mind you, I was just as likely to be building a lighthouse or a hockey rink as I was a chop shop or playing cops and robbers.
Apparently, there’s a company that makes genuine Lego compatible guns/weapons. I can see myself using these now, for when I’m setting up some sort of reproduction scene from a movie or a game.

The seller, Brickarms, says they are designed using the latest Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools to allow for precise details, and yet still retain an artistic sculptural feel of the action weapons.
Injection molded to the highest of tolerances, all BrickArms Weapons are made of durable ABS plastic – the same plastic that Lego uses in their own toys, to mesh perfectly with the Lego system you already own.
