The Mountain of Models! This is one of those rare discoveries that only come along once in a lifetime; this was a collection of about 400 model kits (almost entirely military) that were discovered in a storage location in Pasadena, California. These models had been accumulated by a collector ever since the 1960’s, and had simply been accumulated over the years. Many of these models are over 40 years old, and a great many of these kits are extremely rare, perhaps especially valuable. There are kits from model companies that have long gone out of business or were bought out by other companies, as well as many contemporary kits. The collector was apparently collecting models up until very recently, so the collection and variety spans four decades (notice the one picture with a 1970’s version of the F-16 next to a modern X-35). I have a video link to youtube of the collection here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH3h_9g0Dyw I had made an attempt to count all the models, but I lost count; as near as I can determine, there are just about exactly 400, more or less. 99% of these kits appear complete, and while I obviously can’t guarantee that every kit is complete, I have inspected every box, and almost all of them look complete as far as I can tell (many of them are still in shrinkwrap, as well). There are so many model kits, and such a variety, that it is cost-prohibitive to try to sell and ship each model at a time, so the whole lot is up for auction here on ebay to some lucky enthusiast. Because there are so many models, only local pick-up is possible (will arrange for pick-up after the auction has ended), so only residents of Southern California (or unless you want to drive in from a further distance) can purchase this lot. You will need to bring a truck, SUV or a rent a U-haul van or trailer, as there’s no way that all of these models will fit in any car. If you absolutely want to have these shipped, I will make arrangements to figure out what the postage will be to youre locatoin, but shipping will undoubtedly be high for so many models, even bundled together (although a bulk rate may be possible). Note that many of the boxes themselves are in fair to poor condition (although many are just fine); Some of these model kits are so old, the cardboard boxes haven’t held up well after 40 years, although none of the boxes are falling apart by any means. Just don’t expect new and pristine kits, even from those still in shrinkwrap. Also, many of the boxes are dusty. These kits have been in storage for so long, they accumulated a fine dust on the box. I brushed them clean, but I could only do so good of a job with 400 models to clean. This collection is truly astounding. The types of models includeded are of a wide variety, although mostly military. Not every single model pictured is included (some are out of the camera’s view), but here is just a sample list of some of the models included in this collection: CVN Enterprise (Nichimo) 1/500 scale, Spad XIII (Revell)…old kit, so I don’t see the scale listed, Fw-190 (Hasegawa) 1/32 scale, CVN Kennedy (Monogram), F4F Wildcat (Revell), Bismarck (Revell), CVN Enterprise (Revell) 1/720 scale, B-58 Hustler (Lindberg), Me-109 (Hasegawa) 1/32 scale, A-1H Skyraider (Monogram) 1/48 scale, SR-71 (Revell) 1/72 scale, CVN Eisenhower (Otaki), Harrier (Revell) 1/32 scale, CVN Independence (Revell), Me-109 GK (Fujimi) 1/48 scale, F-8 Crusader (Monogram) 1/48 scale, P-47D (Revell) 1/32 scale, Twin Mustang (Mongram) 1/72 scale, F-111 (Revell) 1/72 scale, F8-D Crusader (Fujimi) 1/70 scale, Mig-21 (Revell) 1/48 scale, SM-62 S.N.A.R.K., D3A1 Val (Tamiya), Fokker Triplane (Revell), CVN Enterprise (Revell) 1/720, Fw-190 D-9 (Fujimi) 1/48, A-4F Skyhawk (Hasegawa) 1/48, RA-5C Vigilante (Hasegawa) 1/72, F-4K Phantom (UPC) 1/72, Phantom II (Revell) 1/72, F4U Corsair (USAirFix) 1/72, M16 Halftrack (Tamiya) 1/35, Jaguar (Heller), F/A-18 Hornet (Testors) 1/48, S-3A Viking (Hasegawa) 1/72, Bismarck (AirFix) 1/600, Mig-25 (Hasegawa) 1/72, Graf Spee (Ringo Toy Corps), F-14A (Hobby Kits) 1/100, Dassault Mirage III C (Fujimi) 1/50, JS-II Stalin (T-10) tank (Tamiya) 1/35, Spitfire (Otaki) 1/48, Apollo Moon lander (Revell), Kiev class CVBGN (Aoshima) 1/700, Me-262 (Hasegawa) 1/32….plus hundreds more! If you are willing to have these items shipped, I will determine what the cheapest and best shipping is possible for you, and provide you with a quote, depending on what manner of shipping (in cases of shipping, I may be able to ship these models in bunches of 25-50 as a single shipment, depending on the size of the particular models being shipped. I have a 100% positive feedback, so you can bid with confidence. Good luck, and I hope that these models go to a good home and be built by someone rather than going to the island of misfit toys.
