Up for bid is this very rare ANTIQUE LIONEL STANDARD GUAGE #9U BUILD-A-LOCO SET from 1928-29 IN THE ORIGINAL BOX with the TRACK…this engine only came in ORANGE. It is in very good condition with no rust or chips or dents…the only damage I see is the RUBBER on the engine wheels is dry rotted and they will have to be replaced….but that’s it…it could also be cleaned but I will leave that up to the new owner. It also comes with 2 OLIVE GREEN OBSERVATION CARS marked on the bottom MADE IN USA THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK, and on the side NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES. I have no way of knowing if it still works. One of the observation cars is in very good condition with no rust but the second car has a few chips in the paint and the plastic windows need to be reglued..they are still there. My reserve price is not even close to GREENBERS’S BOOK price on the engine alone. Any questions, please ask.On Dec-31-09 at 07:15:16 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that in the box is a 43/043 BUILD-A-MOTOR GEAR SET from (1929).
