Rare 1940 Peerless Gas Powered Tether Car: In mid 1940, the Peerless Model Airplane Company of Cleveland, Ohio OH brought out the very handsome, well built, Peerless tether racer. At just under 15 inches in length, it was intended for smaller displacement engines. The wheelbase is 9 3/4 inches and the track is just under 6 inches. The frame is cast aluminum as is the well proportioned grille and the body. The car features an enclosed differential, and genuine Peerless wheels and tires. Power for this car is provided by a Junior Motors Brownie, complete with spark ignition and a factory fuel tank. The engine and driveline turn through smoothly with very good compression. Completely original. This particular Peerless was in the Roger Long collection for a number of years and has the following additional highlights: a well crafted windshield, chromed exhaust pipe, aluminum fuel pump, steering wheel, dash, instruments, and seat. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a top example of a very scarce tether racer from the golden age of the hobby. Offered for your consideration with a sensible reserve. ——————————————————————- Thank you for bidding. All items are payable in US Funds. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Paypal.
