This auction is for a rare 1932 Gilbert Erector Hudson Number A which is in excellent shape. This set has been inventoried and is near complete with a few exceptions according to the book written by William M. Bean. The following are exceptions to the parts list: 1 #P24 crank (0 were listed); 10 #P37 collars (0 were listed); the P52 ladder chain is missing; 1 #B2 wood handle screwdriver is missing; #B8 solid collars – there are 4, but 12 are listed – I believe this is why there are 10 #P37s as they are needed to build the kit; BL small washers – there are 24, 12 are listed; #BN regular turret plate – there are 2, 0 are listed; #CH right angle – there are 6, 0 are listed; #HF butt end plate – there is 1, 0 are listed; #JW combining lever – there is 1 and 1 homemade piece (I believe it was missing from new – 2 are listed); 10 wood screws – not listed; and 8 lock washers – not listed. The parts were put into bags after being inventoried for protection. All parts except the one JW are original parts with original paint. All painted parts are nice – some have age cracks. There are some parts which have red specks paints on them – I don’t know what it is and I have not tried to remove it. There are 11 original parts boxes. All dividers are original. There is 1 small puncture on the paper lid insert. Some of the “tie downs” for parts on the tray (about 6) are from a newer set. All of these parts were from this set – it was not put together – it was this complete when it was purchased from the original owner. I believe this set was assembled once and then put back in the box. The worst pieces, condition wise, are the 2 chrome cross head guide bars because they have some ight rust on them from being poorly plated. The other pieces don’t have rust. The original No. A book is in excellent shape with only a few pages with small tears. The binding edge is not torn. The original box shows some wear with some scrapes to the original outside label. This is sure to be a prized item in any collection. I will be at the York Train Show and the buyer can pick it up there. I will be in the parking lot at the Holidome Monday through Wednesday and in the Blue Hall on Thursday and Friday. I will need to know in advance if you wish to pick it up there as I will be leaving Sunday night (April 18) to go to York. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND TERMS OF AUCTION BEFORE BIDDING.
