Up for auction is this beautiful 14 car set of Santa Fe Railway’s 1951 “Super Chief” made by Samhongsa for Challenger Imports. The passenger set consists of the original 10 car set plus the add on set of 4 additional cars. This set is factory plated and lettered in excellent condition. Catalog numbers 2149.1S/2150.1S. All the cars feature, full window glazing and undercarriage details. They do have some interior partitions but do not have full interiors. No lighting on these cars. Couplers are not installed on these. Please note that not all cars are pictured as we are limited to 12 photos. The Challenger original 10 car set consists of the following cars; one (1) Railway Post Office Car, road #82, one (1) Baggage Car, road #3460, one (1) Budd Pine Series Sleeping Car, road name “Pine Grove”, one (1) Dome Car, road #501, one (1) Dining Car, road #601, one (1) Dormitory-Lounge Car, road #1339, two (2) Regal Series Sleepers, road names “Regal Gate”/”Regal City, one (1) Palm Series Sleeper, road name “Palm Haven” and one (1) Vista Series Observation Car, road name “Vista Canyon”. The 4 car Challenger add on Sleeper set consists of one (1) Budd Pine Series Sleeping Car, road name “Pine Gem”, two (2) Regal Series Sleepers, road names “Regal Crown”/”Regal Court and, one (1) Palm Series Sleeper, road name “Palm Star”.
