Thank you for your interest in this amazing item, an authentic Roy Rogers cowboy hat signed by Mr. Roger, in 1994. This is the very first time it has been offered to the public, as it has been it the private collection of Cal Eilrich, for the past 16 years. Please read the story below, followed by the description of this truly amazing offering. Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 In 1994, at a World Fast Draw Championship tournament at the Roy Rogers Museum in Victorville, California: Roy Rogers, “The King of the Cowboys” personally presented Cal Eilrich “World Fast Draw Champion” one of his signature hats. These hats were made especially for him (Roy) by Resistol Hat Company, in size 7 ¼” R – Style A6W66 Roy Rogers. Mr. Rogers remarked that he had actually worn this particular hat onscreen. He then graciously autographed the hat, “Happy Trails – Roy Rogers & Trigger” inside the hat on the left front. On hand for the presentation was Roy Rogers Jr. “Dusty”, who signed the original Resistol Hat Box, “To Cal – Best Wishes Always – Roy Rogers Jr. – Dusty ‘94”. This treasured hat has been on display under glass in Cal Eilrich’s personal collection since that time. This hat comes with a display stand and a copy of a picture of Roy Rogers and Cal Eilrich, which is autographed by Cal Eilrich, currently 18-Time World Fast Draw Champion, and dated 2010. Also included is a copy of a photo of Roy Rogers firing the 1st Shot in the 1994 World Fast Draw Championship. As mentioned above, this cowboy hat, that was worn by Roy Rogers, is an unbelievable collectors item. Any western memorabilia collector will cherish this hat for many years to come. It came to our attention that Mr. Rogers stopped signing autographs years earlier, but this particular event, he had signed this hat. His son Roy Jr, “Dusty” also signed the box lid to authenticate it. The box itself is in wonderful condition, and has a unique cowhide look to it. This hat holds wonderful memories for us, but is now time to let it go. It should have been put up for auction in July, along with many other Roy Rogers memorabilia, such as Trigger, which sold for $266,000.00, and his director chair for many thousands of dollars. This treasured item is now up for auction, and sold to the highest bidder. As you can see in the first photo, at the top front of the hat, finger smudge marks from Roy Rogers fingers, putting the hat on and taking it off. This hat was never worn by any one other than Roy Rogers himself, as it was put in a glass case and stayed there for 16+ years, never being touched. I know this to be true, because my husband is Cal Eilrich. Roy Rogers was truly “The King of the Cowboys”, an icon for many, young and old.
