This is an auction for a brand new Lionel Corporation (made by MTH) 400E Blue Comet engine and 3 car passenger set. This was the top of the line standard gauge set by Lionel and was most kids dream to own one. This is your chance. The 400E is blue in color and has brass trim. it comes complete with protosound 2.0. Therefore, you get the look of the 1930’s with todays technology to boot. It has sound, smoke, lighting, etc. The 3 car set that comes with it are also blue in color with brass trim. The picture I got from the MTH website shows nickel cars. That is their mistake. These cars are brass trim to match the engine. They are absolutely brand new and will work with AC transformer and standard gauge track. This is the perfect way to get into standard gauge tinplate. The retail for this set is extremely high, but we will start the auction at $100.00 with a modest reserve to protect my interest. The true story behind this set is that I purchased it through my store for a very good friend of mine. He wanted it for under his Christmas tree. Unfortunately, he died suddenly on Dec 14. Now I have a very expensive train set to move. The winning bidder will be required to pay $25.00 shipping and handling in the continental US. Others will pay exact shipping charges.
