1950’s Daihatsu Nippon Express Dump Truck by Nomura (TN) of Japan. This very rare Japanese tin truck is made in the yellow colors and lithographed lettering of Nippon Express. It is friction powered and measures about 10 3/4″ or 27 cm in length. The friction motor works smoothly and quietly. The spring loaded dump bed pops up at the touch of the red arrow located on the left side behind the cab. The tailgate of the dump bed is hinged to release any load. The original plastic windscreen is in perfect condition. The rubber tires are unused. The factory touch-ups in the dump bed cover the attaching points from the underside. The bare metal side marker lights have darkened with age. While the toy is in new and unused condition, it has a few tiny paint chips – on the front fender and on the right side in front of the door (see front photo). The truck is complete, all original, and in excellent unused condition. It comes complete with its original plastic packing bag and illustrated cardboard box. The box is in crisp condition. I grew up in Japan and remember many of these trucks on the road. As a toy, this is the rarest and most desirable of all the three wheel trucks. I’ve been collecting them for over 30 years and have only seen two for sale. I bought them both… I sold the first, unboxed one several years ago for $5,000. Any collector can buy this one with confidence and have no disappointments. Check out the other early three wheel truck we have listed – it’s the last photo.
