HERE WE GO! First off, you are bidding on ALL THREE BEARS PICTURED: The Hong Kong Toy Fair Bear 2010, the Hong Kong Toy Fair Bear 2011, and the Hong Kong Toy Fair Bear 2012 ty beanie babies. All three have been authenticated by BECKY of TRUE BLUE BEANS – one of the top beanie experts in the field and one of the most respected graders. All have been given TOP GRADES of MWMT’s Museum Quality (MQ). It is a privilege to offer SUCH an exciting opportunity for the die hard beanie collector. An opportunity like this has NEVER happened and will likely never happen again. To make it very clear, this auction has a reserve. We are not sure we want to part with these pieces, but want to grow awareness and help alert collectors to the existence of these incredible pieces. We reserve the right to remove this auction at any time prior to the reserve being met. Please reach out with any questions. Can you imagine? Most of you have probably never seen (or own) even one of these Hong Kong bears, but the chance to own an entire set (even one!) is an incredible opportunity. We will remove bids from any with zero feedback/bids we deem insincere. Now let’s discuss these bears. What they are, their history, their rarity etc. I classify the Hong Kong Bears as the “elite Billionaire Bears” given that Ty began releasing them in 2010 and seems set on releasing a new one every year. They are exceptionally more limited than all billionaire bears, Coral Casino, Employee bears, and Chef Robuchon bears. Starting in 2010, Ty displayed and gave out a VERY limited number of an exceedingly rare and exclusive bear called the “Hong Kong Toy Fair 2010″ bear (think smaller production figures than any other exclusive released by ty…ever!). The bear has been confirmed as having been displayed and distributed at the Peninsula Suite at the Peninsula Hotel in January 2010 in Hong Kong. The bear was only distributed here and given only to very very few individuals. The surviving number of mint examples is astronomically low. The existence of this bear was not even made known to the collecting community until well over a year later after the release of the 2011 bear. Reasons for this of course being that there was no official Ty Announcement of this bear, exceptionally few were produced, and that obtaining an example of this bear was exceedingly difficult- needing to be in Hong Kong for the Toy Fair, and being the sort who would preserve the bear. The 2010 bear itself is a beautiful stunning shade of deep red with a yellow ribbon with Hong Kong 2010 on it. The bear has NO tush tag- never had one (nor did any example) as the bear was primarily meant to be displayed only. Our example has a stunning face. But you can’t afford to me picky with this bear, you just won’t ever see one. It is the first (confirmed) in the series and is by far the rarest with the fewest produced and the fewest surviving examples. The 2011 bear was distributed a year later at the Hong Kong Show. It is a brilliant shade of red, with a golden yellow ribbon and a gold embroidered dragon on its chest with the words Hong Kong 2011 beneath it. The show lasted from January 11th-14th 2011. The second bear in the series and extremely rare. It is with this bear that we became aware of the series. The 2012 bear was distributed in January 2012. It is a beautiful shade of light lilac/purple with a pink ribbon. It has a light green dragon across its chest with Hong Kong 2012 embroidered beneath it. The 3rd bear in the series-extraordinarily rare and gorgeous! No collector can boast a full and complete collection without these guys. With so few of these bears produced, it is likely this will be your only chance to pick up these rare bears. Again, please reach out with any questions. Pieces will be shipped and insured on us FedEx/USPS/UPS Express overnight with delivery confirmation, insurance, and signature required.
