Up for auction is a original 1940’s Bremer Whirlwind Tether Car. Everything is original to the car with the rear end and the motor still in working condition. The hood is not original it was made to fit the car. It was lost sometime in the beginning of the car being raced and it has never been part of the car as long as we can remember. Also missing is the shut-off handle, the ignition system (magneto), and the belly pan. From what we know this car was ran in races at some point but it has hung in our father’s garage for the last 30 years untouched. With the loss of our father none of us have a need for this vehicle and would like to see it go to someone that would appreciate the history of the sport and would restore it and either race it again or display it as a collectible. If interested feel free to ask any questions and we will try to answer them the best we can. Thanks for looking!!

1940 Original Dooling FWD II Tether Car: This Dooling racer was introduced in late 1940 as the third and final iteration of the highly successful Dooling Mercury Series. The body, cowl, and nose of the Indianapolis style gas engine racer was done in a single, very good looking aluminum casting. A separate, enclosed cast motor mount is provided, with the drive unit to the front of the car. Both the front and rear axles feature coil sprung suspension. This Dooling FWD is an old, actively raced, Second Series. Many years after it’s competitive days, the car was refinished. All aspects of this 19 inch gas racer are ORIGINAL including the wheels and tires, and the factory grille! Power is provided by a powerful .60 Super Cyclone spark ignition engine. The car features an innovative spur gear/engine mount setup with the carrier bearings being inside of the pinion gear. The engine and drive train turn through smoothly with very good compression. Everything is in place if you wish to race the car, including fuel tank, ignition coil, condenser, and on/off switch. This is a superb survivor in a beautiful dark maroon with yellow and white graphics. These seventy year old tether cars are becoming increasingly scarce. This example offers a remarkable opportunity as it is being offered for your consideration without reserve. ——————————————————————- Thank you for bidding.
Click here to see the auction. Currently $1500.00.

Up for sale is a Gauge-1 Alcohol Fired Accucraft Royal Hudson, in the 2860 “as ran in service” paint scheme. Included in the auction is the engine, tender, instructions, assorted tools, and custom carrying case with foam liner. This engine has only been steamed twice by me, it is an excellent steamer. It has had it’s old axle pump replaced by Dick Abbott’s new modified axle pump which has the properly sized o-rings on the ram. The engine is equipped with an axle pump, hand pump, by-pass valve, pressure gauge, water gauge, blower, throttle, whistle, and working cylinder drain cocks. The blow-off pressure is 60 psi factory set. The boiler has a working fire door for lighting the fire. The cab roof has been modified for it to be removable and promote ease of access to the controls while running. The engine is in EXCELLENT/ALMOST NEW condition. Distilled water has been used at all times, and should ALWAYS be used. The custom carrying case has a lock, and space for all accessories and tools. It’s a beautiful engine, and I hate to see her go, but I could use the money for College. I have described the engine to the best of my knowledge and you are welcome to ask any questions, if so please do BEFORE BIDDING. However, since the engine is used it is sold AS-IS, There is NO warranty expressed, offered or implied. And once the engine leaves my hands, I am no longer responsible for it. NO returns! SHIP AT YOUR OWN RISK! I would REALLY PREFER NOT TO SHIP! This engine lists for over $4000.00 brand new, and the LAST thing I want to see happen to it is for it to be damaged by some wreckless shipping company who has no regard for the fragility of such a piece. I also PREFER TO BE PAID UPON PICK-UP! THIS IS NOT A TOY! IT IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A CHILD’S TOY! THIS IS A FULLY FUNCTIONAL SCALE MODEL OF A WORKING STEAM LOCOMOTIVE WHICH IS ONLY INTENDED FOR AN EXPERIENCED ADULT TO USE! IT INVOLVES FLAMES, AND HOT STEAM UNDER PRESSURE! Thank you for viewing my Auction. I am sure the winning bidder who has met the reserve price shall have many, many years of enjoyable steamups. Again, Thank You and Happy Bidding!
